hAp lite bridge causes 2011 gateway to stop

Hi all,

In need of a little help here…

We have a Mikrotik 2011 as our internet gateway. Our internal network looks as follows:

Internet → Mikrotik 2011 → Gigabit switch → Wireless AP (Apple Time Machine)

I now have a Mikrotik hAp lite which I have set up with the wlan and ether ports in a bridge so that I can use it as a wifi to ethernet bridge from the internal network to the ether ports on the hAp lite. I have the wlan set in station-pseudobridge connected to the the Wireless AP with DHCP set on the wlan interface.

Now the problem comes in… When I plug a device into the ether ports on the hAp lite, the device gets an IP from our internal DHCP server BUT the 2011 seems to disappear from the internal network completely… I cant ping it or connect to the internet. As soon as I unplug a device from the hAp then the 2011 becomes available again…

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this ?

Thanks

If the hAP should be just another “transparent” ap in your network, remove fully config, set the wlan1 to ap bridge mode, create a bridge, put all interfaces to it, give some administrative mac to it and set dhcp client on that bridge to get ip from 2011. Nothing more is necessary, it will work the same regardless you connect the clients via wifi or cable to it.
