Hi, I just got a hAP lite and I’m having issues using it as a router. I went to set it up like it says on the box. It should have just been plug n play like it said, but I’m having issues.
When I connect to it it seems to have DNS issues, at least according to Windows. I also have no Internet on my android devices. When I try to assign static addresses on my computer nothing changes, same for setting static on the router. Not really sure what the issue.
Don’t you mind having for wan and lan the same ip address?
I honestly have no idea what to do to fix this.
I upgraded the firmware, verified that Charter doesn’t block the router, and hard reset the router several times.
It should just work right out of the box, but it isn’t and I have no idea what else to even try.
You have not read… The same addresses on wan and lan…
Try to set the address acquisition to automatic on wan side.
I just went around with my first “Mikrotik Plug and Play” experience.
Not so much.
Had to bring the router to my Mikrotik savvy friend who went into RouterOS and changed the DHCP settings. Until this is done, the router will not pull the automatic IP address from your modem.
IMHO this should be the default configuration, as with no IP there is no internet on the router
To be honest, this is not what you did.
Plug and play would not have caused this.
Clearly your image shows you entered the Internet IP manually (higlighted in blue color).
If you would have left it to “automatic” or not touched at all, it would have worked like plug and play.
