What is the best place to learn fast about this? I ask because I was hacked last night. I was able to stop it fairly quickly and no damage was done.But I need to harden my router faster than I had originally thought, so I need to learn quickly. And good references are appreciated, online or printed material.
If you have been hacked take device offline and do net install!
Else you will never know what they changed on the device.
Before connecting to the internet change user name password…
Afterwards start with default firewall rules, which protect from most issues already and good starting point.
Did one better. Took device out of the system and put a new one in with the updated rules. We had set the admin account to read only, but I realize now that was probably a bad idea. It has been changed but is still only a read only account.
