Just about to have a 1gb internet upgrade and was hoping on some suggestion on what hardware would be best to help me maximise the new connection

What do you expect and how it will be used? Maybe 1100ahx2 could be enough maybe you would need a ccr..
Buy an 30$ Tplink router.
