Hi guys,
I have a project that I need to cover a solar panels area with wifi. I have no experience with exterior wifi implementations. Not sure which mikrotik hardware will be best suited.
The solar camp has a building with a post and in front there are around 50 solar panel. Perhaps one could be not enough to cover all the area.
Any advice will be welcome.
How big is the area? How many trees could be blocking where you want to receive a signal?
It’s an square of 200x200 meters.
There are no trees in the area but there are the solar panels itself.
The aspect of the photovoltaic solar field is similar too this:

Every panel has electronics systems that need to be connected to a wifi.
If each solar panel setup needs to connect to a WiFi network, I would set up a pole with 3 of these in the center: https://mikrotik.com/product/mantbox_2_12s
If if you can’t get to the center, I would set up a couple of these on a pole at one end to spread out a signal everywhere: https://mikrotik.com/product/RBSXTG-2HnDr2-168
