Hardware-Offload

Hi all,
I need your help in the following scenario:
We have a small hotel and I bought 3 items:
1x CRS326-24G, 1x CRS328-24P, 4x wsAP ac
The switches have the Hardware-Offload for the ports but the access points doesn’t have, is there a way to have that feature or enable it if it’s disabled.

Hi,

That was expected there’s no hardware offload for the AP

For a “small hotel” environment I don’t think you need to worry about any hardware-offload anyway.
What Internet capacity do you have ?

So, wsAP ac, cAP ac, and wAP ac don’t have HW-Offload?

The internet is ADSL, 4Mbps speed, and 44GB capacity on monthly basis.

Hardware offload only applies to traffic between ethernet ports passing through the switch chip. Traffic between an ethernet port and the radio has to be handled by the CPU as the wireless drivers run on it. Likewise on the CRS3xx devices hardware offload does not apply to traffic being routed, firewalled, or otherwise processed by the CPU.

hardware offload for 4Mbps???

We’re in a country the Max speed of ADSL is 8Mbps, so what I understand is if the traffic handled by Switch Chip, then we can have HW-Offload otherwise we can’t have it.

It is useless if the traffic is not consistent, like 100Mbit/s

For 4 or 8Mbit/s it is useless.
Even the meager MikroTik model can easily get 10Mbit/s

Thank you all for your quick reply.
