Hello MikroTik team, We need a viable OLT GPON alternative in the Market, you would not be copying to Ubiquiti or FiberHome, in fact they would be creating a more vivid alternative as happened to wireless technology in the past and you have revolutionized
All are in the market for PON ISPs technologies and companies need this,
Fiberhome, ZTE, TP-LINK, Chinese generic, until Ubiquiti has,
Huawei is in an era of indecision,
we are in the era of ultra-speed,
delivering 2,3,4 Mega via wireless and without spectrum analysis in the AC series are becoming unviable in large cities, now all deliver from 10 to 500 Megas, we need a scalable solution for this
I would definitely want to check a MikroTik OLT, but I don’t know if I would trade my Fiberhome for a company that’s new to the market. When it comes to ISP grade equipment, it’s really hard for new players to enter the game. Companies will prefer to invest in brands that had proven over the years that are stable in that area. For instance, I always loved UBNT wireless solutions, but I don’t like their OLT. It is different. A company that makes good routers won’t necessarily make good OLTs or antennas. Earning the customers confidence is really hard and I don’t think that MikroTik has the money or the time to spend on something like this right now.
eeewh - I purchased a dozen of the Mikrotik SFP GPON modules. All of them (except for a lab test unit) were installed in outdoor nema enclosures on the outside of customer homes. As soon as late-spring / early-summer hit and it started getting warm outside , 100 percent of all my Mikrotik GPON SFP modules bricked. They would not come back. The only remaining one I still have left has been in a 65 degree server room.
No reimbursement , no refund , no exchange, no tech support, no nothing and no interest from Mikrotik on what happened
Although I am a huge Mikrotik fan , I would say when it comes to anything Mikrotik GPON related to “RUN” !!!
