Hardware suggestions for home use

Hi,
I’m new to Mikrotik products. I’d like to replace my legacy home setup with new hardware. Part of it is also learning about some network technologies I’ve had no chance to play with yet.

I basically need:

  • a router (DSL modem will stay the same)
  • wifi
  • some ethernet ports for my NAS/PC/VOIP phone/etc.

Ideally I could get rid of my separate switch to save some power with the new setup. I’d like to have wifi faster than 802.11g which I currently use.

IMHO the ideal device for me would be the RB3011UiAS-2HnD-IN which is still not available. Any news on this? Will it be available soon or should I forget about it? What kind of setup would you suggest?

If you need wireless performance - http://routerboard.com/RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT have a few of these deployed, works like a charm.
If you need ports then you are not getting away from the RB2011. Hopefully 3011 with wireless comes out, we all want those 2 cores don’t we ? :slight_smile:
