I’m busy designing and choosing hardware for a new network topology. The network is intended for an radio and tv-station, so there are some network components that need to be high available and I’ve come to almost 10 VLANs at this point. In my design I want some kind of separation between the VLANs, not everyone should be allowed to access every VLAN.
We’re looking into a new core switch that would support this kind of setup. My colleague came up with an HP Aruba 2930F as a good solution for the core switch. I was wondering if this can also be done with MikroTik hardware and whether a Cloud Router Switch would be sufficient or that I should actually be looking into an Cloud Core Router for this kind of set-up.
I’m looking forward hearing about your thoughts on whether or not MikroTik-hardware could fulfill my needs.
