hardware to extend hAP ac lite wireless network

Hi all,

apologies if this is a FAQ. I would like to extend the wireless network in my house from the hAP ac lite device that I’ve just installed (it’s in the corner of the house, I can’t really avoid that). One option might be to install an AP in the ceiling - I have a double height hallway and mezzanine that might provide good coverage. Is there a device in the mikrotik range that would be a good fit for this scenario?

Thanks, that’s useful. The cAP isn’t ac (though most of my wireless clients won’t be, anyway). Do you think theres likely to be an ac version out in the near future, or should I go with that one? Now I’ve started to look at the Mikrotik products, I can see there’s a lite version of the same product. Aside from comparing the spec line-by-line, does anyone know of any significant advantages/disadvantages of the cAP vs cAP lite?

wAP ac supports ceiling installs as well: https://routerboard.com/RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD but is a bit bigger than cAP lite. Of course it is more $$ due to ac :wink:
