Has 6.1 replaced 3.30 as the best for weak signal?

I’m looking for opinions, has 6.1 replaced 3.30 as the best for weak signal?

I’ve got several links that will connect at 24 to 36mb and 80%+ CCQ with 3.30, upgrade to 4.17 or 5.23 and they would shuffle around 5.5 to 11mb, never would get up to the higher rates. Eventually I’d have to either upgrade the antenna from a 19dBi to a 24dBi or downgrade back to 3.30. This is primarily noticed on older ABG hardware. I haven’t noticed a large difference on the 802.11n hardware, but I haven’t tested it as much either. Most of those links have been pretty solid for me, regardless of the version used.

Just playing around with some half fried equipment today, 3.30 showed -73, 4.17 showed -86, 6.1 showed -71. I haven’t done any real testing yet, but I’m planning on it soon.

Just looking for feedback from the rest of the MT users, curious if you’ve noticed a particular version that works better in certain situations.
