Have a damaged my RB??

i almost broke my rb433 and it felt like if i can cry becoz of the dissapointment.

But luckily it did not.

What went wrong is i replace the r45 plug on the poe side. The plug keep sliding out so i decided to replace it.

Im running a straight cable from the poe device to my rb433. The setup is like this…light orange,orange,light green,blue,light blue,green,light brown,brown.

I accidently swop the green with the blue wires and could not understand why the rb wont poweron.

I did fix the connector and the device stil wont go on, but after awhile it went back on.

Could this have damaged my routerboard? I dont hope so.

On the poe device it shows the following…

1 = data
2 = data
3 = data
4 = + Volt
5 = + Volt
6 = data
7 = ground
8 = ground

I accidently raplaced 3 with 4 and 5 with 6.

The rb is working fine again. Please dont tell me that i have damaged the rb. But please tell me if i did.

You sent voltage to the data part of the chip. The only way you can be sure that the RB isn’t damaged is to run a bandwidth test from a PC to the RB. If everything works fine (i.e both ways, no packets dropping etc etc) than the RB isn’t damaged.
I have never experimented changing the pins so i can’t give you a straight answer, sorry :frowning:

thanks god you haven’t swap 6 and 7 %)

and yes - do simple testing to see whether it’s working or not
