I have used reset configuration with the bottom two options ticked and apply backup file specified.
RB is now not accessible, as … brings up the mac and 0.0.0.0 ip in Winbox.
Connecting with ip times out and connecting with mac brings up Winbox but everything is empty and not accessible. Only clock is alive.
Recoverable or through away?
normis:
system reset command probably erased the configuration the device came with.
you can try to connect to the router (make sure to use ports 2-5, not port 1) from your PC with Winbox. Click the […] button and Winbox will find the device. Click on the MAC address to connect. You will then be able to see the IP addresses of the device, and if they are removed, add them back .
This quote is from another thread with the same problem.
I connected to ether5 with Winbox, as indicated above. Result however is the same when connecting with Mac. Winbox comes up, interfaces is empty and add button disabled.
Do you have a null modem serial cable cable? You can try to connect with the CLI. That will display startup messages. Maybe that will help.

hehe, shortcuts never work. I did not connect direct, but through the network. Once I did as told , connect direct, it worked.
So this tread is resolved and we can carry on on my original thread and problem.
Thanks SurferTim!
I was going to suggest starting over in your other thread, but not quite that way!
It’s only funny if it is working now.
