Having TX and RX on different frequencies?

Hi,

In my country we have on 5,4-5,7 Ghz a maximum EIRP of 1 Watt. This would be ok if the client stations would not need a much higher EIRP for connections over long distances. So I have thought that the AP could send in the 5,4 GHz band but the client transmit on another frequency. Nearly all frequencies over 5,7 Ghz have no transmission limit(EIRP) in my country. I know this is possible with nstreme2, but is it also possible in mulitpoint mode? Thanks a lot in advance.

Lucky you! In my country the MAX EIRP is only 100mw, and all wireless signal’s are illegal. The only time they are legal is when they don’t cross public boundries such as streets.

Enjoy it you lucky bastard!!

Hi,

Can someone give me a information on this topic. We want to realise also a fullduplex point to point link using a different frequency on the one side and a other on the second side to get this work. Is this possible? The frequency which is possible to set in MikrotikOS is on the TX-frequency or also the RX-frequency?

You should look at the N-Streme2 protocol in MikroTik manuals. This is for creating full-duplex links. You have to have two radio cards (Atheros) in each router (and of course two antennas  ). One interface is used for TX exclusively, the other one for RX.
