Health and WIFI

I was wondering about the impact of powerful wireless router on health?
I have a big apartment, one of my cat 5e cable is in the room of my son. I thought that two wireless AP can cover my apartment. But I am afraid that I might be dangerous to the health of my child.

What do you think?

your mobile phone transmit power is much much higher. worry about that first.

The radio waves emitted by a GSM handset can have a peak power of 2 watts, and a US analogue phone had a maximum transmit power of 3.6 watts.

wireless router in your home usually trasmits at 200-300mW (up to 0.3W at it’s peak)

You should turn off all the electrical applicant.

then you should safe.

you cant turn off the mobile transmitters, tv transmitters, radio transmitters or any one elses wifi

I was thinking about 1000mW router.

but still, that will be one unit, that mostly sits idle, when at the same time you probably have 5 other cellphones with 2000W each, your neighbor phones, radio phones, TV transmissions etc.

oh… that’s shit..
i should order a good shield material to well covered my whole body..

any introduce?

I am sorry, but I don’t share your sense of humor.

WiFi routers’ RF emissions are probably not going to be significant. Our understanding of science and medicine changes all the time. What is thought to be okay today may be thought to be dangerous tomorrow.

If you want to actually use science to calculate your compliance with current RF exposure guidelines, there are many sites with online calculators. Or you can read the guidelines and do the calculations yourself if you don’t trust anyone else to get it right.

Here is the first link I found on Google:

Or you can just ask random forums and get answers you don’t like when you don’t think the responders took your question as seriously as you do.

Here a study performed at the beginning of this century in Danmark regarding the use of mobile phones (which do radiate much more than wifi, as mentioned before in this topic) and the relation to the health (Cancer.)
http://jnci.oxfordjournals.org/content/98/23/1707.abstract

This is probably one of the most extensive scientific researches ever performed on this subject.
I use it to silence anybody that comes up with “radiation of radio’s can be dangerous”.

In day to day reality everybody is bombarded by electromagnetic energy fields coming from many sources. Some of them not even produced by men. Like the sun, stars etc. but even the earth produces such radiation. Maybe lower than wifi but 24/7/356 from the day you have been conceived.

People worrying for the health due the use of radio’s should never smoke, never eat fat, never drive in a car nor take a plane, bus or train, in fact, should not go on to the street at all and stay inside their bed waiting until their roof collapse on their head in an earthquake or tornado hitting their ´safe place´. And speaking about staying in bed…, probably more people die in the act of having sex than due the use of wifi!

Just because I took this picture just last week:

That’s a spectrogram view of the 2.4GHz band WiFi uses. You can see the three vertical bars representing the three non-overlapping channels.

That big horizontal bar at the bottom? That’s a microwave being turned on for 30 seconds. The microwave is behind a drywall corner, about 20 feet from the RF sensor.

WiFi is harmless. Particularly when compared to all the other stuff that exists.

Look up the radiation chart. Eating a banana and your body processing potassium creates measurable radiation.

WIFI isn’t a problem, tho I wouldn’t have a 1W AP indoors for entirely different reasons.
