help connect adsl modem with mikrotik routeros

hello,

i have a lan with 40 computers.
from the ISP we got an ADSL modem working with static Ip.
so i have to give users ip’s to connect to internet (not automaticly).
the problem i have is that i cant manage bandwitdth (limit)or disconnect users.
now i want to use mikrotik routerOs to manage everything i want.

I install RouterOs v2.9.27 on a machine with 2 NIC.
but i need help to install this whole thing.
internet-mikrotik-lan users.

Lan ip = 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254
gateway = 192.168.1.1
dns prim=200.1.157.11
dns sec=200.1.156.11

can anyone help me config the system to make it work

Hi Berto,

you have to use a Hotspot in the LAN with costumers. There you can put different bandwith limit to each user or you can “close” the hotspot to the “bad” users.

I think it very well is, since 2.9.27 is the latest pirated version available..

did you make the training this MUM in CZ? I think we stay in the same class..

It’s too easy to make a hotspot. You have to read the WiKi, but with this cracked version you’ll have a lot of problems. Try to buy a cheap L4 license of 3.0 ; ) I think you can try it in demo 24h version.

I was on the train-the-trainers course.

Suparbo, you can even get a free license with some limitations, which from your descriptions you are not getting to. But I agree with Martin, easier to just buy a L4 license, it doesn’t cost much

Hi,

you guys are right …not known this is a pirate version.
i bought it from a local shop telling me this is a good software for bandwidth managing .
well i think its a good software indeed, but this crack version sucks.
Anyway my apologize and the good news is that i order two RB433AH Routerboards.
