Help for hotspot (hardware/software specifications)

Hello, and first, sorry for my “poor” english.

I need a hotspot for user control in a classroom (user names and passwords) . I think that the Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD is a good piece of hardware for me.

The questión is:

  • I have no more than 50 simultaneous students in the classroom, but… i need register acounts for 400 or 500 students and i don’t want to use a radius server.

¿Can i add 500 or more use accounts in the Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD “Users” configuration (“IP” - “Hotspot” - “Use” section, i suposse)? This router is Level 4 licenced Router OS.

No matter how many users you have.
With your L4 Licence only you can have 200 active user at all and If you like to use User-Manager (for better controlling of users) you may have only 20 active users.

But why not

i don’t want to use a radius server.

Why not you buy RB2011, or buy an RoS Level 5 Licence, so you will have max 50 active users on your hotspot.
