I have 3 mikrotik router, CCR1009, RB951, and RB4011, I want to use CCR1009 as main router connected to internet through ISP ONT Router, and also want RB951 and RB4011 connected to internet through CCR1009
My question :
it is possible to use 192.168.1.1 for CCR1009, 192.168.1.2 for RB951, 192.168.1.3 for RB4011 ?, all clients from CCR1009, RB4011, and RB951 is shared from 192.168.1.4-254
if I use 192.168.1.1 for CCR1009, 192.168.2.1 for RB4011, and 192.168.3.1 for RB951, it is possible for client connected through RB4011 with 192.168.2.xxx IP address to make connection with client connected through RB951 with 192.168.3.xxx IP Address ?
Forget about how the routers are connected and IP addresses, this will drag on for days.
Instead,
State what the requirements are for groups of devices/users (or single devices/users) in terms of
a. what they should be able to do
b. what they should not be able to do
(examples, home users, guest users, guest wifi, home wifi, gamers, servers, iot devices, cameras, media devices, etc…)
Their needs define how to design and config the router.
a network diagram to show what equipment you want and a rough idea of the relationship between the equipment.
FROM ISP down to what is connected to ports.
Then a proper design can be visualized and then a proper efficient config can be had.
Im not going to waste my time chasing a moving target, nor unrealistic expectations or worst of all incomplete information.
Organize your thoughts and it will fall into place quickly.
Hint: RB951 snd RB4011 don’t have to act as routers at all, they can be used simply as switches and/or AP in the way that all other hosts (regardless how they’re connnected to these two devices) are part of same subnetwork.
Hence plea for high-level overview of wishes/requirements and we’ll give you advice how to make those happen.
