I´M relatively noob with MIkrotik & Base stations settings , I´m only setup transparent bridges point to point & multipoint. I´m pendind to recive official training.
Now I will try to explain the scenario:
in a big tower I have 6 cable modems (100 mb/s EACH).
They are 6 clients in the same area.
I need a bridge until each client and basestation & split one cable modem per each client. (i think that i need tagged VLANs)
Questions:
What hardware I need for the clientes ??? ( usually i used rb711 L3 License
What hardware I need for the Basestation ??? AP, manage ROUTER etc…
U have to pass massive 600mbits from base station to 6 clients (p2mp)
p2mp - I dont think it’s possible except u do something like separate p2p links to all clients (even than everything have to be perfect)
most cheep and simple way is (if the clients are up to 2.5-3km) SXT to STX yes u can pass 100mbits duplex but all depends on LOS,noise etc etc.. (its not easy task hire you have to be very very careful, u have 6xSXT on same Tower and all simultaneously have to send up to 6x100=600mbit )
u can plug directly every SXT (on the base station site) in to the modem - so u don’t need extra equipment
SXT can do routing, filter,mangle,queue.. - same as RB711
Just remember SXT have 400Mhz CPU and u have 100mbit traffic - lot of firewall or mangle rules need lot of CPU researches - but all depend what u want to do.
