Help forwarding ports to run game servers for my friends.

Hi, I have tried just about every tutorial on the internet and am having no luck forwarding a port for a Minecraft server or any ports on my Mikrotik Router V6.44.6.

I’m unfamiliar with Mikrotik routers and have only been able to do this on my old Dlink router in the past.
I have no idea what I’m actually doing and any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance

I’m reading this but my small brain can’t figure out what i’m doing wrong

Step 1: Use a more up to date firmware that has many newer security protocols built-in especially because you are opening doors…
VERSION 6.49.8 Long Term.

Step2: If possible get two things from any users of your server.
a. their static public WANIP address
b. their dyndns URL name - there are many free providers for them to do so, so no excuses.

Thus, for the dst nat rules you will have an additional matching qualifier–> src-address-list=approved
Having the source address list in the rule, makes the port ( normally visible but closed to invisible on scans )

Step 3: Post your full config
/export file=anynameyouwish ( minus router serial Number and any public WANIP information etc. ).

Step4: Do you have internal users using your servers and if so how so? Direct LANIP address??
