or … are you talking about how you can install routeros on a remote PC? Like a server in a datacenter - without involving the datacenter personnel … or simply because they don’t support custom OS’s as it is most often the case?
Actually I would be interested to hear if someone can do that too. Maybe install routeros on a local PC, get the disk image with dd and dd it to a free partition on the remote server … then you somehow rig grub to try to load the os from that partition?
That won’t work. Licenses are tied to hard drives so you can’t (aren’t supposed to be able to) clone hard drives as that would also clone the license.
I also have no idea what the submitted is talking about. You can download bootable ISOs from mikrotik.com. You can duplicate configuration via “/export” and “/import” - not ideal because you have to edit it first, but it isn’t exactly an insurmountable task.
i bought main long ago and i just needed it for a short range but now i need more
so what is the price for lifetime level 6 license???
and i CAN clone the hard easily dude
or just CLONE the partition that the routreOS based on
and then format another pc fully and place the clone there
i think that should work
right?
anyway i think that is illegal …right?
so buying the license is better
hehehehe
