HELP! LHG LTE6 Bad reception

Hi,

I recently bought a LHG LTE6 antenna to improve 4G connection in the rural area where I’m located. Actually this area isn’t more than 5km away from the city, but not in clear sight. Some hills in between.
Thing is that I have better results with my Huawei B310 router, connected indoors, than with the LHG outdoors.
I can’t get more than -60dB and 10mb download with the LHG, but with the B310 I can get 26mb ( indoors).
I’m not sure how far the 4G cell tower is, but I believe is far more than 2Km.
Is there anything I can configure in the OS to improve signal? Or might be that I have many obstacles between my location and closest cell tower? Isn’t this antenna able to pick better signal in this area?
thanks

  • Is your carrier using the 4G frequencies the LHG device is supporting? If LHG does not offer the bands the cell tower uses
it would explain the lower throughput. Also sometimes LHG might use not the best band , you might want to play around with the frequencies you allow to be used.
  • Have you updated LHG LTE interface firmware and the ROS version?
  • LHG is very directional, you need to point it into the right direction. Some even say it has best reception when pointed in the opposite direction
to the cell tower, but don’t remember in which topic that was.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

I’ll keep looking for solutions. But if anyone have some more ideas, please share!
Thanks
