help me choose the right wireless router

Hello all.
i am buying new router for my apartment cca 60 m2.
-I have temporary 100/10 Mbits internet connection
-temporary i have TP link WD941 (i think is from 2011). The main reason for replace is the a lot of connection drops. i need to restart router severel time and then is all good. I cannot say what is the reason . I look for new firmware, but there is no more support for that one.
Also, temporary i have router one one side of apartment and signal is almost none on the other side.
I have some basic network knowledge

I have 2-3 computers on LAN
I have from 1-3 laptops on WIFI.
I have three WIFI mobile phones with option for wifi AC standard
i have also some basic stuff for smart home (one week) connect to this router.

so my friend suggest me, to look for mikrotik routers
I have a few question.

RutherOS-- will i have problems configurate with basic knowladge?

which one to chouse from the list?

or

I think the last one will be overkill, but…

please if you have any suggestion, i will be very happy.

best regards

Hello,
If your internet speed from the provider is up to 100Mbps, then hAP ac lite sounds like should be enough. But in case you are planning on increasing the speed in future, I would recommend one of the other two. Regarding configuration, everything should be good to go with default settings, just add a password to your user and wireless interfaces through Quickguide. If additional information is needed, MikroTik has a wast wiki page covering all topics.

Dont know enough yet about your scenario
What is the size of your apartment? How is it laid out (design).
Where will the router be in relation to the design.
How many walls between the router and the farthest location from the router you will want to use wifi?
Is there any ethernet cabling in the apartment such that the router placement accesses cables that run to different rooms in the apartment.
Is there a central point that RG6 coax (tv cable) runs to in different rooms..

My recommendation are going to be different based on the above…

hi, thx for questions.

  1. 60m2, two rooms and kitchein, apartment is in L.
  2. between two corners is cca 12m, two walls berween the rooms (two rooms plus kitchen and bathroom) .
  3. the main swich from IPS is in the second room, then ethernet cable goes to first room where is located routar. from there, one eth cable goes to kitchen to destop comp. and one stay on the same room near the router (second computer).
  4. no tv cables.

i hope i make understandable answers ( i am not a native eng. speaker).

thank you for help

The hAP ac² would be a good option, but having basic knowledge can be a problem with RouterOS if doing anything outside of Quick Set.

However Quick Set is similar to standard consumer router configuration and works good, I have a hAP ac² in a larger space and have no range issues. I think the RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD is certainly overkill, I can’t speak on the hAP ac lite which also may work for your needs.

today i bought hap ac2.

later i will open it and set it up. i will let you know how it will work.
