I need a ptp about 40 km, to build a WISP. I need to carry at least 40mb. Many have recommended Motorola, but is very expensive. I have a link of 30 km with Ubiquiti Rocket M5 and dish of 30dBi. It Works well but did not carry over 20mb. I’m thinking of a Mikrotik’s solution. It can be a gridded antenna of 28dbi or a dish antenna of 35dbi. Now, what RB would you recommend? The limitation of bandwidth is in the RB or the antenna? Thanks
r5shpn mini Pci with a 433ah should do the job when mounted with 35 dbi solid dish, or r52hn with 433ah and 35dbi dual pol. antenna.
Keep the height very very clear, no trees, chimneys, hills n high rise buildings.
The R5HPn is a single channel and I have not been able to run, apparently consume much energy and you can burn the motherboard. I recommend you use the RB411ah or better the new RB411AH RB411GL possessing gigaethernet port, and RF card I can tell you the best I’ve tried is the DBII F50n-pro, I have used on links greater than 60km and I achieved very good results so far.
For the antennas RD-5G34 you can solve for that distance, these are what I use and do not complain.
