Hi everyone,
This is my first post here — please pardon any ignorance.
I have a hAP ax³ and x2 cAP ax, both running the latest RouterOS 7.18.2.
I would like to mesh them together for seamless roaming.
However, most of the tutorials I’ve found online seem to be based on older versions of RouterOS. From what I understand, the CAPsMAN package has now been fully integrated into RouterOS and is no longer a separate install, and many of the configuration options shown in those guides no longer exist or look very different in 7.18.2.
I also noticed that RouterOS 7 has a “Mesh” tab under Wireless settings, but I haven’t been able to find any up-to-date tutorials on how to use it.
My setup:
hAP ax³ is the main router connected to the internet, with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi enabled.
hAP ax³ is connected via ether2 to a HP PoE+ switch.
The other 2 cAP ax are connected to the same switch, receiving both power and LAN.
What I would like to achieve:
Set up true seamless roaming between the three devices.
Use wired LAN for the backhaul between the devices (rather than wireless) to avoid using radio resources and to achieve faster speeds.
If anyone could guide me through how to properly set this up on RouterOS 7.18.2, it would be very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
