Help: New to Mikrotik router. Need help to configure.

Hi All,

I’m not sure whether its the right place to post.
Anyway I’m new to networking and appreciate help to configure.

I’ve just purchase a RB493G + R52Hn card to replace a Linksys WRT54G2 and I am now a total noob.

Board is with OS5.8 firmware is 2.37.

I manage to follow a video in youtube and manage to get 1 PC connected in any 1 port to internet.

But I cannot get any other port to work and cannot figure out how to setup the wireless card.

Can anyone guide me through to set my access to router at 10.20.30.1

ethernet port 2 = static 10.20.30.12
ethernet port 3 = static 10.20.30.13
ethernet port 4 = static 10.20.30.14
ethernet port 5 = static 10.20.30.15
ethernet port 6 = static 10.20.30.16
ethernet port 7 = static 10.20.30.17
ethernet port 8 = static 10.20.30.18
ethernet port 9 = static 10.20.30.19
Wireless card = DHCP 10.20.30.100-254

I’m poor in using terminal interface so a guide on winbox is good.
or and link on video is appreciated.

What is your purpose with this?

i cant understand what is your idea , but if i think , your problem can be resolve with a Interface Bridge to and add ports to that interface . and set only one ip address to that Bridge Interface .

Hi all thanks for the replies.

Actually setting all port to have static ip isnt necessary.
Just that I’m new to network so I have no idea whether is it possible.

But now i cant even have 2 PCs connected to internet base on videos posted in youtube.
Wireless is visible and computer can be connect but no internet as well.

if one of your eth port connected to Internet on that router, then you will need to add a masquerade firewall to that port so that the rest of your eth ports can reach outside of your network. (Internet).
