HELP!!!!!! on ethernet interface

Can anybody assist me on this problem. idont know if it is my NIC ..(but i doubt it cos i have used 2 diffrent ones).let me describe my network topology.

i have have an hotspot controller with 2 NICs eth1 belong to the internet subnet (192.168.50.254/24) and eth2 belongs to the hotspot subnet(10.5.50.1/24).

anytime i put on or reboot the controller, the interface for internet subnet will not reply my ping from another system in the same subnet…on till i go to the console and ping the default gateway (192.168.50.64) of the internet subnet. as the internet gateway replies me,that is when i will start seeing reply from the IP of the eth1… the during this time my hotspot client wont be able to get the login page.

i dont know of anyone has encountered this type of problem before.

i will need an assisance as soon as possible. PLS HELP !!!

I take it you have used the “setup” method for configuring the Hotspot and that you have therefore not setup any routing or firewall rules of your own?

Try adding a static route to the internet gateway, on ether1.

You are perfectly right. but how do i go about the static route to the gateway cos i already specify the gateway in the /ip route add gateway=192.168.50.63.

Please i will love your assistance on that if there is something different.
