Help restoring a CRS326 after failed upgrade

Hi!

My CRS326 was running ok with RouterOS 7.11 but something wrong happened when I tried to upgrade it to RouterOS 7.11.1…

Now the switch is likely “boot looping” every 30 seconds (more or less).

The CRS326 do not shows at the NetInstall app device list.

I’ve used a console cable to try to investigate the problem.

At the image shows that it try suceffully the bootp and get the IP address of my NetInstall app, but unfortunately the switch isn’t listed on the devices list of the app.

Below that are some weird messages about “internal error” and “kernel panic”

What can I do to fix my switch?

Thanks in advance!

sometimes if you put a dumb switch between your PC and the MikroTik that helps to make netinstall work

You really should have skipped 7.11.1 and go straight to 7.11.2. Probably wouldn’t have made any difference with your problem though.

There are some forum posts about similar experience with no-nworking netinstall version 7.11.X … using netinstall 7.12beta worked for those users. Note that you can use some netinstall version to install another ROS version (e.g. use netinstall 7.12beta to install 7.11.2) in case you don’t want to go with ROS beta.

Fixed it!

Just to keep records to help any other with the same issue:

Use:

  • NetInstall 7.12 Beta;
  • RouterOS 7.11.2 package;

That way, in my case, worked like a charm.

Thank you ALL for trying to help me out!
