Help setting up a Crossroads as an Wifi AP

Hi

I’ve been given a crossroads board and have updated it to v3.23. The way I want to use the crossroads is to wire it into my LAN switch and have it broadcast as an AP so computers can connect to the internet via the crossroads 14db sector panel.

I’ve bridged the Eth1 and Radio, I have added the gateway and DHCP relay to my DHCP server / firewall (Running PFSense).

Everything seems to work fine except I can’t connect wirelessly. I don’t know what mode I want it in and there seems to be no Dummies Manual to mikrotik for me. I’m not very comfortable using command line and there is off course no winbox for dummies manual either because and I quote from a previous thread ‘the winbox and command line are identifical’. My dyslexia needs pictures to show me where and how to do things and a command line manual is causing my eyes to hurt!!!

I have these options for the wireless mode.

  1. alignment only.
  2. AP Bridge
  3. Bridge
  4. nstream dual slave
  5. station
  6. station psuedobridge
  7. station psuedobridge clone
  8. station wds
  9. wds slave.

I’m hoping that someone will know how I can turn a crossroads into an AP otherwise I’ll be burning it. This is my third day trying to get it to work to no avail. I have at one point, via one mode been able to get it to work wirelessly but only for 1 client, and the 2nd client not be allowed on / have the DHCP relay information or whatever. Only one computer at a time. This is obviously not what I’m after because I’m servicing a site with about 50 laptops that connect wirelessly. I have no real IT experience and am running the IT for a charity serving in the heart of Uganda (Africa).

I had 2 days to set up both the crossroads and a RB433AH with a 1000mw radio both as simple wifi AP’s. This is day 3 and i’ve not finnished the first box!!!

Hopefully.
