Help setting up RB1100

Hello,
I have a router mikrotik RB1100. I have the following port settings:
-------group1(switch1 Atheros 8316)-------
ether1=WAN connection
ether2=PPPoEserver
ether3=(master-port ether2) client PPPoE
ether4=(master-port ether2) client PPPoE
ether5=(master-port ether2) client PPPoE

-------group2(switch2 Atheros 8316)-------
ether6=none
ether7=none
ether8=none
ether9=none
ether10=none

I can not communicate group1 with group2. That is, I want group2 ports are also clients of the PPPoEserver (ether2), but I can not. I have tried to bridge the ether2 and ether6 (and ether7-10 as slaves of the ether6) does not work. How I can do?

i want the following port settings:
-------group1(switch1 Atheros 8316)-------
ether1=WAN connection
ether2=PPPoE server
ether3=(master-port ether2) client PPPoE
ether4=(master-port ether2) client PPPoE
ether5=(master-port ether2) client PPPoE

-------group2(switch2 Atheros 8316)-------
ether6=client PPPoE
ether7=client PPPoE
ether8=client PPPoE
ether9=client PPPoE
ether10=client PPPoE

so, you want RB to be the client of itself? O_o

No.

PPPoEserver is configured on ether2 and the ports ether3, ether4 and ether5 are slaves (clients of the server) of ports ether2. And so I can use the ports ether2-ether5 as clients of the PPPoEserver.

With that configuration of the 5 ports, all right. But the problem is that I need more ports for more connection and need to use ports ether6-ether10 and I can not how.

That is, I mean:

  • if I physically connect a cable from port ether5 to port ether6,
    everything works. But I want to do it internally and not waste the two ports(ether5 and ether6)
    for you to understand me.

I don’t understand…

Is PPPoE server confugured on ether2, or it’s connected to ether2, and it’s external server?..

sounds like the former - that’s why I don’t understand, why do you need to connect pppoe-client to the pppoe-server on the same router…

Is PPPoE server confugured on ether2.

why do i need to connect pppoe-client to the pppoe-server on the same router?

because clients are not really clients. I have a few access points connected to ubiquity and need to connect more hehe.

what does pppoe have to do with this?.. %-|

See if you understand me now:

Ether2 (PORT-MASTET. )-------------> Server configured here here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)
|
| __Ether3 (Slave )-------------> here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)
| __Ether4 (Slave )-------------> here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)
| __Ether5 (Slave )-------------> here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)

And now I need to connect more antennas and I have to put them because if I connect the ports that I have free (ether6-ether10) does not work. And I know how to communicate those ports (ether6-ether10) with ether2.

i want this:
Ether2 (PORT-MASTET. )-------------> Server configured here here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)
|
|Ether3 (Slave )-------------> here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)
|Ether4 (Slave )-------------> here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)
|Ether5 (Slave )-------------> here I can connect any antenna wimax (access points)

|…|
|…|HOW I CAN CONNECT THE SWITCHS?¿?¿?
|Ether6 (Slave )-------------> how I can connect any antenna here?
__|
|__Ether7 (Slave )-------------> how I can connect any antenna here?
|__Ether8 (Slave )-------------> how I can connect any antenna here?
|__Ether9 (Slave )-------------> how I can connect any antenna here?
|__Ether10(Slave )-------------> how I can connect any antenna here?

SWITCH1= ether1-ether5
SWITCH2= ether6-ether10

oh, my lord!.. create one more pppoe server on second switch group :smiley:

I do not like that idea. I want all in one xD

there are two physical switch groups, so either you create one more PPPoE server (what’s problem?!? it makes no difference at all!), or you get 5 cm patchcord to connect switchgroups and loose two ports :slight_smile:
