Help to connect Mikrotik PoE injector & hAP AC

Hello i bought today 2 products
1.Mikrotik hAP AC
2.Gigabit PoE injector

I can ping the device properly but i cannot connect to the panel. I mean i cannot connect from PC. When i try to connect through the wireless from my smart phone, it connects.
Does it need a special wiring for the PoE injector? I used the color pair that i use for Ethernet cables “straight”.
Perhaps i need to activate the the port 1 (PoE in) as a port to work for PoE?

Please give me any ideas to try.

Thank you

Ether1 port is protected, since it should go to the switch (where your ISP device is connected). The local network ports are 2-5, this is where you should connect from.

Hello again and thank you for the fast reply.

I am sorry but i didn’t understand. First of all i don’t use internet or router. I have a closed network, only lan. So i am using, one switch and i connect on it with cable, one PC and now i want to connect my new AP. I want to use my AP with PoE because it will go very high to the wall.
The access point under the port 1 says PoE. I connect the cable at this port.

Please see the image and tell me if you see something wrong. My problem is that i cannot connect to the panel but i can ping the AP.

Thank you

Where is your PC plugged into? The switch? Then with default settings this will not work. Ether1 is meant to be connected to the internet gateway, so has firewall. You can’t connect to it (by default) .

To remove the firewall, use the power jack instead of PoE, connect that Ethernet cable to port 2 (not 1) and connect to the device. Then, in IP → Firewall → Filter menu, remove the firewall rules.

But this will only allow you to access the device via port 1. Lots of other things will have to be changed, most likely. Your setup is not a typical home AP system, most likely you will need other changes.

The default configuration has the ports blocked on ether1, so you’ll need to connect your PC to it on one of the other ports and remove the default configuration (and configure it the way you want). It’s based on the assumption that you’ll connect ether1 to the Internet and your computers to the other ports.

This can be a bit frustrating, especially when it’s a wireless CPE and the only ethernet port is blocked. Our workbench PC doesn’t have wireless, so we have to use Netinstall to wipe the default configuration before we do anything with it.

My question is very simple and i think we make it complicated.
I have one PC and i connect it to 5port switch. All the other ports are empty.

Now i bought one Mikrotik RouterBOARD. Also i bought PoE injector again from Microtik.
Can you help me to connect the AP to work with PoE?

At the back of the AP, at port 1 it says PoE. How is it supposed to work?

I think I already answered, but I will try to make it shorter.

Through the PoE injector, you can’t connect to the router. You must connect your ethernet cable to ports 2-5.

PoE injector port is used to connect your ISP. If you don’t have a traditional setup, you need to reconfigure port 1 or configure the device though wireless or ports 2-5.

Finally i changed in Quick Set from Home AP Dual to CAP and it works how i want it.

I reconfigured nothing at all, just 2 clicks away from solution.

Thank you

That is not really possible  cAP mode makes the device controllable from a CAPsMAN server, which, I think, you do not have.

Either use poe extractor and connect data cable to other port than ether1 or run another cable to the router from the pc or remove the configuration and make it as you need manually.
