I need help with MT RouterOS 4.16 (24hour demo) to recognize my 3G USB device?
** Test Bench Equipment as Follows **
Using a Pantech UM185 on the Cricket EVDO Service.
- Works fine in laptop, and in CradlePoint CTR350
RouterOS 4.16 Demo running on x86 (e-Machine T-1840) w/2 Two NIC’s.
- Works fine with ether1 as WAN, ether2 as IP>Hotspot (connected to Linksys WAP11)
When connecting the 3G USB device, there is power and connectivity on the 3G device.
I am unsure of the proper steps when adding a device. I am used to mini pci for wireless cards showing up grayed out.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
What is the usual procedure for seeing a USB device connected to a device running RouterOS 4.16.
How do I verify that RouterOS 4.16 even knows there is a (USB1 interface)?
Any help would be appreciated!
Since I am using an eMachine PC with RouterOS 4.16, how do I check to see if RouterOS recognizes the USB ports on the Motherboard. Is there a way to see what hardware is supported and functions and what is not?
Sorry not used to CLI.

From the WinBox>System>Resources I can see the USB controller.

Here is where I am at now.
I can see the Pantech device connected to USB 4:1
it is listed as an MMC Storage device. I am not understanding how to create an interface that ties to the USB device (only Serial0 showing as a port). Only showing the NIC cards as interfaces… I must be missing something really simple. Down to 10 hours on this trial… any help would be grand.

Okay so I am one step closer…
I took an old Sprint USB 3g modem (Novatel Ovation U727) and plugged it into the PC.
I now have a USB2 Port and a PPP client interface.

So what am I missing to make the Pantech (UTStarcom) UM185 do the same thing?
is there a way to put drivers in the Winbox>File that will assist with this?
The Pantech (UTStarcom) UM175 is supported by RouterOS so maybe those files can be referenced?
been working diligently for 2 days here, and could use a bit of help?
Well, I finally decided to bite the bullet and go ROS v5. and the USB port showed up and the PPP connection seems to have worked, and now I just have to test it in an area with better service.
Will update again after I debug it.
