Hello everyone!
I recently bought an hotspot server alreadi configured to work in our Lan wich runs the hotspot in the hotel I work with. Now, I don’t have much experience, so I need your help.
The hotspot server is a RB450G and runs the routerOs 4.11 (mipsbe).
Our bigger issuse are two:
- Our customers keep sharing the connection
I’ve read on this forum that newer versions of the routerOs can allow MAC binding. This would probably solve the problem. The licence is valid up to v 7.x and the level is 5.
Is it possible, following the instructions trough The Dude, to upgrade and have the mac binding function?
If yes, will I be able to upgrade and not have to configure everything, since I don’t even know how the configuration was first made?
If I do a backup in the file list, will this backup restore everything was on the board memory (original routerOs, all settings, hotspot users…)???
\ - I am not able to make an hotspot ticket that does not have a limit up time but will expire after (example) 2 days from the first login, to give possibility to the customers to have a ticket with no limitations for their stay in the hotel. Is there a way?
Thank you for your help!
Edit:
Does it exist a script to write in the “user profiles - on login” that when an user log in gets its mac address, then if the user up time is = to 00:00:00 it writes the logged user mac address in the user details??
