help urgent

Hi all,

I have a ros 4.11 installed on a p4 system. I have installed a routerboard 411ah with xr2 card. The p4 server has ether1 and ether2. ether2 is configured for internet and ether1 is for hotspot. I connected it to a switch and and then i connected the rboard 411ah to the switch. I have added 192.168.1.1/24 for the ether1 of the p4 server. and 192.168.10.1/24 and 192.168.1.90 to the ethernet port of 411ah.

The problem. i have hotspot on p4 server. after logging in, I can ping to 192.168.10.1 from a client machine. but I cant ping from the p4 server in winbox. and worse is that I cant ping from the 411ah ie 192.168.10.1 to 192.168.1.1 ie the p4 server. i dont understand why this is happening. I am surprised to see that i can ping to the 411ah from one of the client computers on the hotspot. I believe this has something to do with the hotspot.

Please help me. I need this information urgently. And one more thing, i dont know if this is true. but all the wisps in my area use ros 2.9 etc not ros 4. does ros 4 has backdrops.

Thankx

I don’t understand your layout and what you’re trying to do. Can you post what you’re trying to achieve (not the configuration you are trying to implement, but the problem you are trying to solve), together with the solution you’re trying to put together as a network drawing?

Many people use 2.9 because it’s cracked and they don’t want to pay. Those versions are of course unsupported. Even legal installs of 2.9 are out of support as the current RouterOS is two major versions ahead. Hotspots run fine on 4.x.

You need to:
P4 ether1 hotspot: 192.168.1.1
p4ether2: 192.168.10.1
create a bridge and add ports ether1 and wlan1 of the 411ah
put a ip to the bridge like 192.168.1.90

this will work for you.
