Help wanted searching for a server to run ROS

Hi. I would like some help on this. I’m searching for a server wich can smoothly install and run ROS, but more specifically I’m searching for a server wich can be remotely monitored with tools like iRMC (Fujitsu) or iDRAC (Dell), etc. (a.e. iRMC can even remotely monitor a powered down server, remotely configure BIOS, etc.). Now I’m trying install ROS on a TX150 (wich carry iRMC hardware) without sucess. Have anybody got sucess with a server like I described?. Thanks a lot.

Well, if somebody is interested too, I at last solved it with this IP KVM :

It cost me about 300 €, but it worth it. Now I can control remotely at BIOS level any computer with ROS.

Best.

Would prefer not to have to worry about that hardware that much! Regardless, I don’t know of a 'server" that will do it.

you can get a supermicro board with an IPMI card for very cheap. the last IPMI card I bought was only $70 and it views console, remote media mount, power control, etc. definately worth the money.

any PCI slot can handle that as its a “PCI” system, that just gets it power from there. Usually don’t turn on and off the system though. Plenty of other options though out there.

Hi Dennis. I ordered your RouterOS book at Lulu. By now I only would say you that will be good to have a better preview at lulu, as example a couple pages from one chapter from the real content (not the prologs nor the index chapters). Said this, I cant wait to receive it  I’m just finishing my mktk certifications this week and I bet it will help me a lot with them.

Regards!
Alvaro.

Yes have not got that to get updated yet :frowning:
