HELP: Which MikroTik product to use???

Greetings to all,

I’m new to this forum & as well as to MikroTik products.

I wanted to setup a WISP network by using PPPOE authentication method for my end-users.
I already got around 25 end-users.

Is there any MikroTik product which I can use to setup PPPOE authentication & to limit the bandwidth to end-user by their “username”??

Suggetion and Guidance highly appreciated.

You can that with all the routerboards.
Choose a cloud core router if you have a lot of clients want to serve. Read above 100 simultaneous clients.
RB2011 series are good for lighter work

Hi Plisken, Thanks for reply.

I don’t need any WiFi features.
My clients list will NOT cross 60.
Clients Bandwidth speed will varies from 1Mbps to 4Mbps.

Based on Client’s Username, I wanted to set limit for bandwidth usage (Example: 4Mbps speed upto 100GB then speed will reduce to 1Mbps till his billing period ends(30days)).

Can you please clarify my doubts:

  1. Is all RouterBoard includes same features(since they use same RouterOS)?
  2. Is RouterBOARD can alone handle all my requirements(i.e.PPPoE authentication, assigning static/dynamic IP, Limit bandwidth/speed & log his connect/disconnect timings alongwith session bandwidth usage…etc..)? OR is it necessary to put any Server alongwith RouterBoard?
  3. Is RB750GL fulfill my requirement?

  3. 4x60=240 routed, nated, queued and firewalled Mbits at your maximum. I would take the 1100ahx2.
