Help!!! Wifi to Ethernet/switch!

Am currently deployed to SWA and i managed to acquire a Rb411 with wireless card r52n. I’ve been trying to set this up for over a weekend now but cant seem to get it to work, i read almost all the wiki, search this msg board and try watching videos on youtube but still no luck! can someone please help me with a step to step guide on how to config the RB to recieve wife(internet) and have other connect through ethernet(switch).. please i would really apperciate any kind of help i could get! alot of ppl are counting on this to help boost morale… thanks in advance

It’s so easy.

1)If you want to get connect to wireless network, It’s mean the Wlan1 on RB should works in station mode. Then you can scan the wireless SSIDs and connect to the certain one. If there is some security method for connection, you need to ask about it from the provider.

  1. To make a RB as a Gateway for your client, you need to add different Network Address to the Ether1(LAN).

  2. You can have some methods for authenticate and accounting your clients if you want>> Hotspot, PPPoE, DHCP (All in Wiki).

Make your decision about the 3rd step. others are depend on it.

thanks for the reply, when i try to connect to AP, it says “searching for network” / disabled!. it seems like i can connect to the wireless AP with my laptop and phone, but i cant connect with Routeros

every time you are in scan mode and Your Wireless Card Is in Scan Running Mode , Wireless Card goes to this mode .

after scanned for wireless network , select your destination Network ( SSID ) And Then Connect to that .

thanks, even when am not in scan mode, it stills says searching for network!

So, did you fill the SSID field manually ? If yes it always try to search for that and if your purpose is not to connect to that SSID, just remove it.
Try to reset configuration for the wlan1 and start again

i tried resetting the wireless interface to default, but it keeps searching for network, i removed the SSID but anytie i try to connect to a wireless network auto fill the SSID!

Does the wireless SSID have any authentication method? WPA or something else I mean

No, the SSID doesnt have any authentication method on it

Hmm, what about signal strength?
