Help with cAP 2n Setup

Hi,

Here’s my setup

I have a firewall, a microtik router bridged, with winsrv2k8r2 as dhcp/dns.
What i need help with is

I initially set it up and put it in the same range 172.16.1.1/24, which worked great, but needed to have all wireless clients in their own subnet.
So i tried to do that, but I broke it because I couldn’t manage the AP anywmore.
I gave it it’s own range 172.10.1.1/24, and i broke the management ip.

So i factory reset the wireless cAP 2n. but now I can’t access it to manage it.

I’m working remotely, do i have to be on site to get this handled?

My questions are.

  1. Do i have to be on site to manage, or set the NIC to the same subnet before I can see it?
  2. Can someone help me with configuring the proper settings so that I can put all wireless devices on their own subnet with their own dhcp running from the cAP?

Gateway: 172.16.1.1
DHCP: 172.16.1.10

Please don’t scold me and refer me to the WiKi, i’ve used it and to me certain things don’t look as straightforward as the wiki seams.

You can mac telnet from other directly (or in bridge/switch) connected mikrotik device. See the ip-neighbors.

Thanks, a little to late it’s already reset.

How would I go about putting clients on their own subnet if the cAP is in bridged mode?

Using capsman or Ap bridge mode?

ip bridged mode.

How do i do capsman?
