Help with combination of hardware

Hi,

I’m going to by new network hardware. My current is same standard home switch that just isn’t enough.

I need:

= 5 Gig ports
Very good local network performance. >500Mbit/s
Full bandwith of the 100 mbit/s WAN connection.
2mbit VPN performance
Network monitoring, NAT, DHCP, simple firewall rules like pass thrue of single tcp port.
G+N wireless none or very simple routing rules.

I Can’t find anything that fits me all the way but:
Alternativ 1:

  • external 5 ports switch
  • RB 600A with one wirelesscard and antenna
    or
    Alternativ 2:
  • RB 750G
  • RB 411 with one wirelesscard and antenna

which alternativ is best for me? Alternativ 2 is cheaper but not as powerfull as alternativ 1.

Please advice me!

750G at min, a 1000 may do as well, another option is http://www.mikrotikrouter.com. The 732 has 7 gigEs and can handle the traffic etc that you need.

Both RB1000 and the 732 are to expensiv to me.

Non of RB750 and RB1000 have WIFI or MiniPCI slot.

Isn’t RB600 enough for me?

However RB750G complemented with RB411* vill do the work. or?

It sounds like the best solusion for me is with my original alt. 2. Is’t RB600A working for me?
