I’m trying to figure how to define a rate limit with mikrotik but not sure.
My aim to to provide 1 mbit/s symmetric with a 4 Mbyte franchise at maximum velocity every minute (this means, the first 4 mbytes of downloaded/uploaded data every minute are transmitted at the maximum possible speed, if customer continues downloading/uploading data, the remaining data is transferred at 1 mbit/s. The franchise is reset every minute if the customer has the link inactive).
This was done in the past directly in the ubiquity CPEs (with two parameters: traffic limit, traffic burst) but I’m moving to a centralized system with pppoe and I don’t fully understand how to have such behavior with Mikrotik rate control as I don’t want to specify a burst speed but an amount of data.
Is it possible to replicate such behavior?
