Hello all, not sure exactly how to officially call what I am trying to do, but here is what I want to achieve. Setup my haplite to connect to my wireless router and then enable wired connection through that. Not sure if this is doable, all I have found are instructions on how to make wireless repeaters, but I need to be able to have a wired connection. For background, I have an Xbox one that I’d like to connect to the internet, unfortunately, a wired connection is the only option as the wifi card is fried. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
not 100% clear what you trying to do but here is my assumption:
connect the hAP AC Lite to an existing wifi
connect xbox etc. to the hAP AC by wire
here is what you need to do on the hAP AC:
- remove wlan1 or wlan 2 from the local bridge. which one? depending what the existing wiFi is. if it is 2.4 GHz, use wlan1. lets say we are going to use wlan1 for example.
2.set waln1 as station or station bridge, and connect it to the existing WiFi. - add DHCP client on wlan1, include “add default route”
3.add wlan1 to the WAN interface list - you are done. now you should have internet connection through existing wifi on wlan2 and all your LAN ports
note the hAP AC Lite is still in router mode so everytyhing connected to it are not on the same layer2 subnet as your existing WiFi.
