HEX POE problem

Hi, I recently bought a HEX POE RB960PGS (https://mikrotik.com/product/RB960PGS) and I wanted to power my mAP device (https://mikrotik.com/product/RBmAP2nD).

Now the device does power up, but the problem is that wifi doesn’t work. I can’t connect or I connect but the speed is really slow. If I plug mAP on adapter and don’t use POE then everything works perfectly. Now I’m wondering why it wouldn’t work, because in specification of HEX POE it says it can output 1A per port. I tried to use auto and forced but it was still the same. POE outputs around 65mA and I’m using the original 24V 2,5A adapter for HEX. I tried different cables, different ports, but nothing works.
I tried contacting MikroTik support, but I still got no answer, can anyone help? I don’t understand why HEX POE wouldn’t power+data such a small device, because I bought it just for this reason alone.

With my PowerBox Pro that is technically the same, I power a LtAP with 2 miniPCIe cards installed + BaseBox 2 + BaseBox 5 and works all perfect.

mAp need 802.3 af to be powered up, so with that you need 48V adapter on hex side.
Ltap as mentioned in post reply, need 12-30V and can be powered with default hex adapter which is 24V oassive PoE.

So no RMA, you need to change adapter on hex side

All Mikrotik devices (and mAP is no exclusion) capable of being powered by 802.3af/at can also be powered by passive PoE.

DC jack input Voltage 8-57 V

What exactly would be 12V or 24V PoE in this case, if not passive? :slight_smile:

Indeed 802.3af/at doesn’t work with 12-24v.

If you see the brochure, it says;

Power input: Passive PoE 12-57V and 802.3af/at, support powering from USB

And as you can see, is the brochure of mAP.
