Hi all, How can i set public ip numbers to my customers

Hello all,

I know that this is very easy for some one who did this, I am in a little bussy and frustrated and so I could not clearly understand mikrotik wiki. Please give me some info on how to set a public ip given by isp to my customer.

I was given 16 public ip address and i am using hotspot. How can I give / assign public ip address to customers using local ip or mac address (192.168. - is the series in of my local customers). is this anything to do with masquerading or mapping?.

I tried doing some rules in firewall, but when i check for what my ip number would look on the whatmyip is . net it is showing the server ip number rather than the public ip i assigned. i believe that when we assign public ip numbers to customers, the assigned public number should be shown.

Please do reply me. shed a little knowledge. i will be grateful.

thank you.

and if you dont understand what i have asked for, i will give you my network settings

I think you maybe interested in reading this wiki: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/How_to_link_Public_addresses_to_Local_ones

Unless those IPs are routed to you, then you need to set up up NAT the way that you want. If they can be routed to you, then you can directly assign them.

There is another trick, but it is messy, and you need to make sure it won’t mess anything up on your ISPs end. Call them and ask if enabling proxy-arp on your router will cause them problems, and make sure no other devices are using the public subnet. This thread covers how to setup a proxy-arp solution.
