hi guys
I was just doing /ip hotspot setup and it asked for new port for winbox and I was stupid to use winbox terminal and it suddenly hanged after asking for new port for www.

I tried loging inside which was not able to do so, and telet show up following >

and winbox also fail to login :frowning:

I have no idea how to login into device. and I don’t have serial cable … what should I ? how can I use mac-telnet without another mt box?

try to use putty and login to mt via SSH, or try telnet.

if you change www port, try to change connect string on winbox to " you.ip.address:newport"

MAC telnet should work as it is layer 2 protocol,and you are blocked out of layer 3 (IP),

mac-telnet is only mt 2 mt as far as I know
is there any emulator for windows or linux?

i run it on windows XP with no issues with neigbour viewer from the MT site,FWIW

I would try to log in as admin on the routerbox.

If you use Winbox, then you have to be first log in to the hotspot server by opening your WEB Browser. It should take you in to the log in page.

Then you can open winbox.

The same goes if you are using telnet.

just buy a serial cable…

and you can access the router via winbox by putting in the MAC address.. IF its 2.9.. i dont know if this works on pre-2.9 releases.
