I don’t know where to post this, so I try here 
It would be nice to have an option in Winbox, to show all interfaces (as it’s the case right now) or to show only the used ones.
Some devices have plenty unused interfaces that we often don’t need to see under Winbox…

It is not clear what you mean? Can you give some examples of unused interfaces???
Where are you seeing them?
I then imagine the classic requests for help:
“megabug in routeros: interfaces disappeared randomly”
When he had BANALLY hidden them and had NOT checked before writing on the forum…

The point is its a horrible idea that will never get traction.
If you have some ethernet ports not being used, then simply go into interfaces ethernet and DISABLE them.
When looking at the interface page they will be greyed out.
Otherwise, suggest you stop looking at the interface page, its clearly bad for your health.
An other way would be to be able to hide all the disabled interfaces.
Just use filter with Enabled:yes and save the session…
And the comment before is not directed to you, but to a “generic user”… (and sorry for my bad english)

However, if there is no real technical reason,
I never disable the interfaces.
However, it can also be used as a “Running” filter and DINAMICALLY only the connected ones appear.
Ah rextended, so what you are doing is strictly within the local winbox application.
If someone connected their laptop to the router and used their own winbox, all the interfaces would show correct??
