High Avialability / Hardware Failover with PPPOE Servers

Dear All,

I’m a newbie with Mikrotik Product, I get my first a month ago and the second yesterday

With the first one :
I setup it as PPPOE server with usermanager behind a BGP and it works .

Ether1 : WAN
Ether2: LAN MGT
Etther3 : connected to my dslam + PPPOE Server

Now with the second I would to configure it as it act as a slave of the other one in case a failure.

I decided to try VRRP so I created three VRRP with the same VRID for WAN + LAN interface I use but if I shutdown my Master Mikrotik entirely I can access to the SLAVE by the WAN or LAN but my pppoe client are disconnected.

So can you advise me how can I set it up to get high avialabilty working correctly for pppoe client ?

Is it possible to sync usermanager together as now when I created a user I do it on both ?

Is there also a way to synchronised the Mikrotik configuration to the slave as if I make a modification on the Master it is replicated on the slave automaticallly ?

If you need more details on my configuration just tell me what you need

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Hi,

I really need advice as I’m still blocked on this problem !!!

Anyone can tell if I’m on right or wrong way to do what I want : VRRP is the solution or not ?

My Mikrotik are CCR 1009 8G 1S 1S+ with 6.25 version installed.

Thanks
