I am a begginner with the product and have a question related to High Definition Video over Mikrotik products. The application involves the transmission of high definition video surviellance in a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint mikrotik network. The cameras will transmit no more than 10mbps per camera. No more than 3 cameras will be connected to a backhaul link and a total of 10 cameras for the pilot pilot project. What product would you recommend and what is the real worl maximum throughput for that recommened product. Additionally, we must support WIFI traffic also.
Unfortunately, not a easy answer, to many variables. What i have found to be the biggest factor is processing power and Fresnel zone. With Fresnel, especially, any obstacle in the zone will have a perfect link strength, but horrible throughput on link.
One is 30 km and 10 mbps is no issue. 16 camera & a dvr run good quality near to streaming videos.
another one just 8 km & 8 cameras & a dvr but the videos r slow. cameras keep coming n going…difference in time frames etc. overall not a very satisfying link.
Egate is right. fresnel is the issue. 2nd link has height which does not match.
hardware wise groove, sxt, 711 r all gr8 devices.
