Complaints from gamers / voip users of lag/high latency
Installed smokeping on Banana Pi and configured Pi to connect via PPPoE
Plugged it in to switch along with users. Lots and lots of smoke and PL
Configure PI with static IP , plug into switch connected to LAN on same router
Latency goes down, packet loss is completely gone, and Jitter is almost non-existant.
Smokeping on the Pi pings the SFP+ #1 IP , ISP Gateway IP, 8.8.8.8 and Hurricane Electric DNS. The smoke and packet loss to all these hops goes away when not using PPPOE.
