Hello,
I installed Router OS on a HCL server, below are specifications :
→ Intel Core-2 Duo
→ CPU Frequency - 1799 MHz
→ Total Memory - 1900.2 MiB
Around 45Mbps of traffic is routed via this box and number queues added are 370.
I am seeing that the CPU usage is around 50% all the time even when there is minimum traffic (10Mbps) flow through the box and also the memory usage is increasing day by day, currently used memory is 1000 MiB.
I doubt whether we I can continue using this box,can someone help me out to understand the reason why there is a drastic increase in the CPU usage and Memory (services which are Memory and CPU intensive ) .. ?
Note : Please find the below attachments for the screen-shots of the CPU.Memory and Throughput.

Rakesh

Hello .. the version is 3.28.
please make supout.rif and send to support@mikrotik.com with short description of problem
p.s. do you really need 370 queues?..
Hello
I have already sent a mail to Mikrotik Support also … we have gone for this number of queues thinking that there will be no problem and the device can handle…is there any limitation to the number of queues supported by Mikrotik…?
We can afford to go for a separate box if there is really a limitation for number of queues that Mikrotik can handle.
Please suggest …

‘Simple queues are for simple setups’ (c) Janis Megis
hundreds queues - it’s not simple setup )) you may want to optimize it by using Queue Tree and PCQ queues
Hello
One last query…is it the number of queues that is piling up the CPU and Memory usage…if so I will disable them right now…at the same time please let us know the number of queues we can go for.

Rakesh
they may pill your CPU, more precise answer can be given to you by Support looking at supout.rif
and… I almost don’t use Simple Queues, so don’t know their requirements. I just know they use more resources than Queue Tree. because Simple queues are more complex
