I have the same trouble like others with dc++ or torrents because of the limitation of the hardware. I intend to use a P4@2000Mhz, 256MB with R 52 and a 12 dBi omni antenna! For the moment I use ZCOM ZG 7000 and crashes when there is a considerable amount of data!
How much will improve P4 the stability?
I also intend tu use sectors to separate users but I am afraid of the perturbation between antennas… maybe if I use 2 sectors, one for Vertical Polarization and one for Horizonal Polarization!
If there is any posibility other than cutting p2p traffic?
You can use several sectors on one site, just make sure your channels don’t interfere. Also, it would be very wise to go for 5.8GHz instead of 2.4, if possible.
Yes, a P4 system will work 100 times better than any routerboard or AP can dream of. (OK, the new RB600’s etc is catching up to P4 status pretty fast).
The only reason I dont go for PC’s on high sites, is due to power backup. All my sites run off 12VDC with battery packs. A P4 is first prize.
